❗ Procedure: Handling Missing Items in Order Fulfillment
- Set Aside the Shipping Label: Remove and place it in a designated "Pending" area for later follow-up.
- Recheck the Area Thoroughly: Double-check nearby bins, shelves, and under other inventory items.
- Revisit After Fulfillment Completion: Return to the missing item’s area once other orders are done.
- Find a Substitute Item (if applicable):
- Look for a similar item (same function, size, value).
- Only substitute if it meets company and customer guidelines.
- Escalate to Management: If no substitute is found or you’re unsure, notify a manager. Document all actions taken.
