๐ General Merchandise (GM) Section Procedures โ Voltage Bins
Purpose: To maintain the GM section for high-value merchandise (e.g., lawn mowers, power tools, high-end electronics) while ensuring accurate pricing, theft prevention, and excellent customer service.
๐ฐ 1. Stocking and Pricing
- Select high-end items from incoming inventory for placement in the GM section.
- Determine retail price of each item using reliable sources.
- Price items at 50% of retail value and clearly display the price on a printed or written sticker.
- Restock or adjust products daily or as needed to maintain a full, organized display.
๐ก๏ธ 2. Customer Interaction & Security
- Customers must request assistance to view any GM section items.
- An employee must monitor the customer at all times while handling items to prevent theft or damage.
- Handle items carefully and allow customers to inspect them without compromising product safety.
๐๏ธ 3. Sales Process
- When a customer purchases an item:
- Attach a PAID Voltage sticker to the item before it leaves the GM section.
- Clearly explain the 7-day return policy โ only for damaged or non-working items.

- Verify that the exact item sold has been returned (check serial numbers, brand, and model if applicable).
- Inspect the item to ensure the issue qualifies for return (damaged or non-working).
- Confirm that all components and accessories originally included are present.
๐ 5. Downtime Duties
- If no customers are in the GM section and restocking is not required:
- Assist with taping boxes in the opening station.
- Return products to the sales floor for general inventory.
๐งน 6. Cleanliness & Organization
- Keep shelves clean, dust-free, and neatly arranged.
- Remove any broken, missing, or misplaced items immediately.
- Ensure price stickers are readable and accurate.
